President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the establishment of the Ministry of Construction in the country on the basis of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Architecture and Construction.
Today, a decree of the head of state on the organization of the new department was signed.
Thus, the ministry becomes an authorized body of state administration implementing a unified state policy in the field of architecture and construction.
In particular, the new ministry will conduct a single scientific and technical policy in the field of urban development and engineering and technical surveys for construction, the introduction of energy efficient and energy-efficient innovative projects and solutions in construction activities.
Its tasks also include the organization of the development and approval of a general scheme for resettlement in the territory of the Republic, schemes for planning the territories of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, oblasts, the city of Tashkent, districts, cities, general plans for settlements and other town planning documentation.
The document notes that the country does not carry out a comprehensive analysis of the state and trends in urban development, the market of design and contract services, and the production of building materials, and as a result, medium-term and long-term directions of urban development of the territories are not defined.
"The lack of master plans for most settlements has a negative impact on the complex development of territories, the location of production and infrastructure facilities, the development of entrepreneurship and business activity, and also causes unprocessed decisions in the construction process," the decree said.
